39th General Assembly WCC-APR

17th December 2024 | Jaipur, India

Held in Jaipur in December 2024, through the generous auspices of World Craft City and UNESCO Creative City for Crafts, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

WCC-APR holds a full General Assembly every four years and this is a wonderful opportunity to meet in person, to share what has been achieved over the previous four years, to elect the next board and to thank all those who worked so hard through the previous term.

We have been fortunate to have been guided by Dr Ikramov Adkham and his successor Mr Aziz Murtazaev over the 2020-2024 period. Aziz has been the kind of leader who understands intimately the value of the craft artisans with whom we work, and the importance of creating government connections and networks at every level. His work to promote and advocate for the Uzbekistan craft festivals in Bukhara (festival image below) and Kokand, as well as promoting the World Craft City network, are an example to us all.

We particularly thank Rajasthan Tourism, Government of Rajasthan (fashion venue image below); the Offices of Development Commissioners for Handicrafts and Handlooms through the Ministry of Textiles in India, and the support from the Crafts Council of India and Delhi Crafts Council among many others.
