Membership

WCC-APR strives to create and grow a positive network of organisations and individuals across the Asia Pacific who share our aims and aspirations. Our focus is on working to the benefit of artisans across the region by communicating clearly, advocating strongly and supporting new initiatives.

Membership Changes

WCC-APR is part of the World Crafts Council International (WCCI).

The WCCI has determined that regional entities do not have the right to operate as a membership body. This decision will impact on our capacity to provide services to members.

From 30th October 2025, in accordance with directives from WCCI, WCC-APR will not be accepting new membership applications.

  • All membership applications to the World Craft Council will need to be made directly to WCCI using this form.

  • Alternatively, new members may apply directly to APCA for membership.

Please note: WCCI has not indicated that it will share membership information with APR, and this will make it difficult for members to take advantage of our communication network.

What does this mean for current members?

The Asia Pacific Crafts Alliance (APCA) will take up much of the practical communication, networking and advocacy work for APR members and will do so unless you inform us that you do not want to continue with the organisation.

From January 2026, membership renewals will be directed to APCA, unless you inform us that you do not wish to continue membership.

APCA has a slightly different membership structure to WCC-APR with more rights and privileges – see information here

PLEASE NOTE: Current WCC-APR members may choose simply to belong to WCCI.

What does this mean for new members?

Being a member of APCA means that for the same cost as membership to WCC APR you are:

  • Part of an international network

  • Receive invitations to networking and events

  • Have access to online communities and mentorship opportunities

  • Attend Member only events

  • Included in online members database - raising the profile of artisans/organisations

  • Eligible for endorsement from APCA

From 1st November 2025, APCA will be taking membership applications.
