European Crafts Alliance Annual Conference 2025

  • Oslo, Oslo Norway (map)

The European Crafts Alliance Annual Conference 2025 will take place in Oslo, Norway, co-organised with Norwegian Crafts.

This year’s theme is, Positioning Crafts in the Contemporary Economy.

“Crafts play a vital role in Europe’s economy and cultural fabric — fueling innovation, sustainability, and local development across regions. They are a serious economic force in Europe. Our annual conference, Positioning Crafts in the Contemporary Economy, will explore how the sector fuels innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth across the EU. The event will bring together guest speakers from across Europe and nearly 40 members of the ECA.” From the ECA website.

ECA’s annual conference has become a key gathering for sharing perspectives, practices, and policy developments shaping the crafts sector in Europe today. The conference brings together craftspeople, craft organisations, cultural actors, educators, policymakers, and everyone else interested in crafts, to reflect on current challenges and opportunities - from entrepreneurship and sustainability to education, heritage, and evolving creative practices.

The conference is co-organised by Norwegian Crafts, and will be held in person at Litteraturhuset and live-streamed online. It is open to all and free to attend. The full programme and speakers will be announced soon.
