ALA CRAFT 2025 International Crafts Festival

  • 148 Dostyk Avenue Almaty, Almaty, 050000 Kazakhstan (map)

4th - 5th October 2025

On October 4–5, Abay Square in Almaty will host the ALA CRAFT 2025 International Crafts Festival, organized with the support of the Almaty City Tourism Department. The event will bring together over 100 artisans from Kazakhstan and abroad, showcasing the finest examples of both traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.

Festival visitors will have the chance not only to admire unique works but also to take part in hands-on masterclasses, try traditional craft techniques, and explore fairs featuring original handmade creations. The lively atmosphere of direct interaction with artisans and experts will offer a deeper appreciation of the diverse cultures and traditions represented.

The program also features an exhibition of the best works from the national “Sheber” competition, with the results to be announced during the festival. Thanks to Chevron’s partnership support, the competition prize fund will sponsor an educational study tour abroad, enabling artisans to exchange knowledge and experience.

The festival carries special significance as Almaty was designated a World Craft City by the World Crafts Council in 2024 — a title that celebrates the city’s rich craft heritage and its contribution to the region’s creative economy.

Guests will also have the opportunity to meet leading masters. Jewelry by Serikkali Kokenov, Serik Ryspekov, and Serzhan Bashirov will be on display, along with musical instruments crafted by Zholaushi Turdugulov, and fashion collections from ethno-designers Aizhan Bekkulova, Tlek Sultan, Aues Saginayeva, and the Aspara brand led by Aidarkhan Kaliyev.

Admission is free
