How to become a Member of APR ?

Eligibility

The Membership of the WCC Asia Pacific shall be open to any Institution, Organization and Individual from countries of the 6 sub-regions of operational areas of the WCC-Asia Pacific Region and shall be subject to the By-laws of WCC-AISBL and the Rules & Regulations of the WCC-Asia Pacific Region.

National Entity Member : Full Membership of the Council is available to two National Entity members per country whose primary purpose is to encourage the crafts and which adopts the principles of the Council and which, in the judgment of the Executive Board, is capable of and willing to carry out its obligations to the Council. A New member entity may be admitted as a National Entity only when acceptable first by the APR Executive Board and to be ratified at the Regional General Assembly. Only two (2) National Entities from any country may be Members of the Council with full voting right. The term “National Entity” means the Group, Partnership, Corporation, Association, Foundation or other Organization within a country, or, a Governmental office, Ministry, or Agency within a country which best represents the crafts of such country.

It was decided that the two National Entities should comprise in each country, an active prominent Non-Profit Organization (NGO), preferably, the National Crafts Council wherever possible, and a Governmental body.

It is important to know that the Annual fee of a National Entity covers all the members of the Group, Partnership, Corporation, Association, Foundation or other Organization.

National Entity Members have full voting right.

Associate Member : A new member may be admitted as an Associate Member only when acceptable first by the APR Executive Board and to be ratified at the Regional General Assembly first to the Regional Organization. Associate Members do not have voting rights.

International/Regional NGO’s/ Group Member : Pursuant to a recommendation of and terms agreed, the Executive Board may accept for affiliation to WCC, International and Regional, Non-Governmental Organizations, Exporters/ Business houses and Organizations other than NGOs and government departments, who are sympathetic to the role of crafts in society and operate related programmes.  International and Regional NGO Members do not have voting rights.

Individual Member : An Individual Member is a person who is practicing craftswoman/ craftsman, a worker in the area of crafts, and/or a supporter of crafts and crafts development, and who accepts to promote the principles and objectives of WCC Asia Pacific.  Individual members do not have voting rights.

Student Member : Membership is open for students to encourage their closer engagement with craft preservation and development.

Honorary Members : Honorary Members may be recommended by a National Entity and may be admitted by vote of the Asia Pacific Regional General Assembly. Honorary Members do not pay fees and they do not have voting rights.

Advisors : They are appointed by the WCC-APR President for a specific term. Advisors do not pay fees and they do not have voting right.

Admission : The admission of a National Entity Member, Associate Member, International and Regional NGO Member, Individual Member, Student Member and Honorary Member to Membership in WCC Asia Pacific shall be pursuant to the decision of the Asia Pacific Executive Board and ratified at the next following Asia Pacific Regional General Assembly.

Suspension/Limitation of Membership : The rights and privileges of Membership, of a Member of WCC-Asia Pacific Region, found to be in violation of its obligations, including the non-payment of its annual contribution to WCC-Asia Pacific Region for a period of two (2) years, may be suspended or limited by the Executive Board until such time as the matter has been finally determined by the Asia Pacific Regional General Assembly.

Cancellation of Membership : Any Membership of the Council may be cancelled by the Asia Pacific Regional General Assembly, provided however, that at least one-third (1/3) of the members (with voting rights) present at the Meeting shall agree.
